Case and system board compatibility

I've got an A1261 that has a destroyed case, but the internals are still good. I know there are slight differences between cases on different models, so I wouldn't expect to be able to mix and match case halves. However, the A1229 looks to be identical internally to the A1261. So does anyone know if it's possible to get a put the good internals of my A1261 into an A1229 case?
