Dishwasher fills with water but wont start

My dishwasher will not start, it will only fill with water and then sit, after a bit it will drain. It is a whirlpool WDF520PADB , when this issue first started if I messed with the latch it would then work. A couple cycles later it would stop again. I purchased a new latch (part W10653840 ) and there was no change. The only thing I noticed in regards to the latch is if I stick something in it after the door is shut there is a loud click noise. Is there another part I should try, any suggestions would be appreciated.
