1 iPhone 8 went dark while in use and now nothing at all
My daughter was using her iPhone 8 and it suddently went dark. She thinks it was around 75% on the battery and was plugged in at the time. Now it will not do anything. I have tried many different power blocks and cables, all of which work on other Apple devices. I had it sitting on a wireless charger for long an long with no joy. I have tried holding various buttons (power and vol down, power and vol up, etc. etc. etc.) for various amounts of time with absolutely no response from the phone.
I am just wondering what might have gone bad in there? Battery? Main board? I don’t really see how it can just blink off while in use like that. I am farily handy with multimeters and things, but just don’t know what to start with.

Have you tried connecting the phone to an external screen such as a monitor with HDMI?

It is possible you screen died, in which case it would display fine over HDMI

I do not have that sort of a connector at this time. I would think it would make some noises or vibrate even if the scren is dead, though. I does neither. I'll look for a connector to check anyway, though. Thanks!
