Why is my screen black after keyboard replacement?

Hello guys. please I need your help, After the replacement of the keyboard, I noticed the screen shows light but not displaying the object (eg. the apple logo). So for troubleshooting's sake, I connected a Macbook Pro 2014 retina 13'‘ screen, to my surprise, the diode next to the screen terminal exploded. Since then I have been getting a black screen. please how do I know the component responsible for the screen to display black?

Your response would be highly appreciated.

FYI. it works on the external monitor.

I guess you discovered the differences between iDP and eDP interfaces! Apple has jumped around using different displays from different sources and in some cases the interface was altered as well.

The breakpoint here is between 2012/early 2013 and the late 2013/2014 which is different!

So does it means that I need to find the exact value for the display to come on?

@omiran - You'll need to replace it! Hopefully thats all you damaged.

さんによる

@danj Thank you. I will do that and revert.

For precaution's sake, any preventative measures I need to take before replacement, and must the new diode be the same value as the damaged one?

さんによる

@omiran - The part is a ferrite bead not a diode.

You may want to find someone with the deeper skills to help you. Do you have the needed soldering iron? Have you done micro-soldering before?

さんによる

@danj Oh! thank you. I thought it was a diode. Is it possible I get one from a MacBook pro-2014 13"?

Yes, I'm averagely good at micro-soldering, out of 10 I can say 8.
