lost all gears but t hen gotthem back

19 89 gmc 1500 sierra xl starts losing high gear then with in 5 min now all is gone towed home once it was off tow truck in drive way started it put it went in gear so i floored it it smoked the tires off ihad reverse to nexk morning wouldnt go in any gear that day it smoke tires offso i changed fluiid and fiushed it out with new fluid then put newe in dinand lucus but didny help puzzed it does have 40zr17 inch tires purpie low rideer
