Is there a way to fix an LCD TV screen that flickers?

I have already unplugged the TV from the outlet, used the reset power button, plugged it back and the screen still flickers. It used to give me a picture after a while, but now it only flickers and the screen stays black. I already reviewed comments that it could be the inverter box or LED backlight going bad. Should I attempt to try and fix this (is it worth it), or just get another TV? I got the TV in 2007, I’m retired and do watch A LOT of TV, so I’m not sure if it’s at the end of it’s life span or not. If fixing it myself is going to be too intense to do, what other options do I have?
