no sound output, adapter is working correctly

Hi,

Some things to try:

Try disabling the audio controller in Device Manager and then re-enabling it and check if the audio now works OK.

If still not go into BIOS > Security > HD Audio Interface and then lock the setting, save the change, restart the laptop, go back into BIOS and unlock the same setting again, save the change and then restart the laptop allow it to boot etc and check the audio.

If still no good try the latest Asus Realtek audio drivers from here and see if they work. If not you can roll back to the drivers that were installed.
