Doesn't work unless in charger

My Lenovo Ideapad 330s, which is only around 2-3 years old won’t turn on unless it’s plugged in. The battery percentage is also stuck on 75% and won’t go up when it’s plugged in. This suddenly happened today after some testing with a virtual machine and enabling “Intel Virtualization Technology” in the BIOS. However, this might not be the reason to my laptop not working correctly. Should I open it up and check on the battery, or what troubleshooting should I try next?

Hi,

Try creating a Win 10 battery report and check the status of the battery.

If the battery is faulty, here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.34 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the battery.

On p.73 part #13 you’ll find the part numbers for the various batteries available for the model (it may also be printed on the original battery as well so that you can verify). If you search online using the part number only in the search term, you’ll get results for suppliers of the part.
