Does anyone know how to tear down a Sony TX5? This camera is made for toughness and is waterproof. I have no idea how to take this camera apart. Can someone give me some info on how I can get to the zoom mechanism so I can get a replacement part?

Louis, here is the service manual level 2 that will show you how to disassemble your camera as well as a whole bunch of other stuff:-). Hope this will help you out in getting your task accomplished, good luck and let us know how it is going.

I figured out how to get mine apart, and posted a quick video about it.
The tricky part is getting the front face off. You have to lift the part by the screws then pull it like in the video, wont be as easy as it looks. I got mine off without knowing but bent the face a little. Not that I care at this point, I pretty sure mine is dead.

Could you manage to fix you camera problem? I have the same problem.
