Headphones connected but there's still sound coming out my speakers.

My A21s just started losing the sound from headphones completely, they are recognised as connected but audio is still playing through the speakers, Any help?

I also have this problem. My phone is only 3 weeks old. Samsung headphones work in it but any other Jack plug doesn't. I took it back to the store but they were no help at all. Told me to see if I could find out if it was a common problem or the like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@Kristian Barnett

How many "ring" does the Samsung headphone jack have 3 or 4?

How many do the other headsets have?

Does the phone speaker stop if you slightly (and gently) move the other headphone jacks side to side when in the phone socket?

Please verify the model number of the phone?

it could be the headphones you are using not connecting properly I use a gaming headset in mine they typically have 3 rings on the jack any more than 3 may not work on your phone samsung are notorious for saying only their peripherals work with their phone so take what they say with a grain of salt any headphones with 3 rings should work properly on your phone hope this helps

Hi,

It seems that there is a problem with the headphone jack in the phone. There is an internal contact inthe headphone jack that operates when a set of headphones is plugged in, to indicate to the audio controller to switch the sound from the speaker to the headphone jack.

Try inserting the headphone plug and gently wiggle it about as you are inserting and removing it to see if this releases the contact and restores the sound to the headphones.

If still no good then the phone will have to be opened and the headphone jack be inspected. First to make sure that it is not loose from the systemboard and if it is OK then it may need to be replaced as it cannot be repaired.

Here’s a video that shows how to open the phone so that the headphone jack can be accessed.

The phone seems to be a fairly recently released model so it may still be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Maybe you should try and get it fixed under warranty as opening the phone will most probably void the warranty.

It's not the plug for the headphones.

I may have done something. I seen something pop up about my headphones a couple of says ago I was busy so I just clicked it without checking it first. I may have disconnected it somehow. My headphones work just fine in my laptop & my other phone. Is there something within the system in my phone that I could have turned off or something?

If you don't get an indication on the phone that the headphones are plugged in then there is a problem with the headphone socket in the phone.

The socket may have to be replaced.

Basis bottomline .

First make sure you have a good connection, before waisting time to look for other possible problems.

Make sure that the jack is properly and fully inserted into the slot on the phone.

MY GOD THANK YOU, I made account here just thank you lol, wiggling it worked like a charm!!

I had this problem. All these suggestions re checking the connection etc were of no help. Like I didn't already check the connection (face palm). Then it is suggested that the earphones are defective.

Amazingly, a simple restart of my phone did the trick. The issue was with the phone not detecting the headphones and a restart fixed it. Amazing that the tech experts never consider that the most expensive bit of equipment may be what has the issue early on.
