LCD with light and dark bars

Following a replacement of the power button/proximity sensor/earpiece/top mic ribbon cable, I was greeted with an LCD with funky light and dark bars, almost like a gradient that looks like it's supposed to be there. In some apps with light backgrounds, it's not as noticeable as others with dark backgrounds. I'll post a screen shot that I took with another iPhone, since taking one with the actual phone produced no visible problems...

No help? The bands are like noise bands and seem to change depending on what is on screen. The main band is about 2/3 down on the screen. Would this be caused by a damaged LCD ribbon cable or something else?

It could be a damaged cable or a damage connector on the logic board. Your best course of action is to take it apart again and look for any visible tear in the cable or if the connectors on the logic board or the ribbon cables look damaged. We've also seem little pieces of debris get wedged into the connectors and cause issues like that.

Odd twist of events...The other day I dropped my phone. Not from a great height, so nothing catastrophic happened. After a few seconds of use I began to notice how CLEAR the screen was and how VIVID the images were--could it be that the problem was fixed? After awhile I noticed the bars returned and was a bit dismayed until I pinched the phone on the left side next to where the mute switch and volume buttons were and the screen became clear again! Every once in a while I'll have to repeat this. I did replace the noise canceling mic which included the assembly for several components, and I believe I had to disassemble part of the mute switch to get at them. So apparently there is a grounding issue or loose connection of some sort causing this problem--wouldn't you agree? I hate to tinker inside my phone any more so I may just give a pinch every once in awhile. But if someone knows the exact problem, then I might be willing enough to go back in one more time to permanently fix this issue!

Thanks
