How can I fix my loose screen hinge?
Macbook air 13 inch, 2017.
My right hinge is loose and therefore it doesn’t stay in the same position at some angles. Any recommendations?

Follow this guide MacBook Air 13インチ Early 2015 ディスプレイアセンブリの交換 After disconnecting the battery, jump down to Steps 24 & 25 checking the uppercase screws are tight. If not you’ll need to go back and follow the guide taking the display off as you need to gain access to the hinge screws within the lid.

op...make sure to keep track of what screws came from where when using this guide. apple likes to set you up for failure by changing screw length at random and causing self repair damage to those not paying attention. this is for another model, but follow the guide, but keep track of what goes where!
@danj ....if these are exactly the same (sometimes it is , sometimes they arent) let me know so i can take note for future reference. thx
@jostewcrew - The 2017 system is the exactly the same hardware. Apple only altered the CPU as Intel EoL the one Apple was using i5 5250U was replaced with i5 5350U. The i7 5650U stayed the same across both!
The 2018 > 2020 retina models are a complete redesign!

youll want to google or you tube a teardown for this model being that there isnt one as of yet on this site. that being said, youll want to open the device, remove the motherboard and get access to the hinges underneath. there you can find your hinge is either loose and can be retightened, or more than likely, youll find that the bracket has broken off of the board and can try to repair with hot glue or whatever craftiness you come up with.
