Could I replace my laptop screen with another models?

Hey guys, my screen for the Asus ZenBook 13 UX331FN was cracked about two months ago, and I can’t find any replacement parts for it at all. I was wondering if I could use another models screen to replace it cause they’re all the same size and similar models, such as the Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Some laptops do use similar panels as far as I’m concerned. See if you can use the model number on the broken display panel if possible.

As long as the screw points and panel pinout are the same, it will usually work. Most of the time, the only difference is the brand with multiple manufacturers using a common pinout if the panel isn’t custom manufactured like the Apple 16:10 displays starting with the rMBP.

Now you can’t just change resolutions out easily, even with iDP. If you wanted to go from 768p to 1080p that usually isn’t as much of an issue (Check the pinout first!!!) but you can’t go from 768p->2K/3K/4K due to the required pins not being present - you need a new display cable as well. AND it needs to be a factory option as the board also needs the native pins.
