What do I do to fix my broken headphone jack? (NOT DISPLAYED PC MODEL)

I don’t have the model of PC displayed on this post, but I chose it since it was the closest one to what I have visually. The website didn’t have an option for my PC, but I have an HP Pavillion 500. I believe my headphone jack is entirely broken, as when I plug in headphones, no option appears ANYWHERE on the PC for the output device. I’ve tried various methods using the control center, audio troubleshooting, and it only shows the default speakers and mic as outputs. (For some reason, my PC has no actual built in speakers.) A friend of mine said a cable could’ve burnt from leaving the PC on too long, which I have done on mistake for far longer than I ever should keep it on. Any help with what the problem is or what I should do?

totally fake news :-)

This means very likely a driver problem

Go to Device Manager of your PC (google)

Then look for Sound; see if there is a yellow "?" https://i.imgur.com/SVoZwtX.png

I think unlikely 'hardware' problem.

Open PC, clean - make photos post here.

Hi,

What is the full model number of the desktop PC, as there are a lot of Pavilion 500 models?
