1 Dishwasher is very inconsistent
I’m at my wits end. I have a whrilpool gold series dishwasher. Sometimes my dishwasher works, other times seems to fill with water, then never sprays. Recently, I ran heavy cycle, hi temp wash, heat dry, and sani wash and the dishes came out cleaner then they have been in a long time. I heard water spraying more than I heard before. Now, I’m running the same cycle, and it does not seem to be doing anything. It does fill with water and it is hot. I have run the diagnotics on this and nothing shows. Months ago, the heating element did not seem to be working. After running the diagnostics, it worked. I am ready to chuck this thing. Can anybody help? I’ve been reading solutions and googling, but nothing seems to work. Thanks!

What is the model number of the dishwasher?
Have you checked the harness connection to the control board to make sure that it is secure and also that the connectors are clean etc and not corroded?

When I removed the door to check the float, everything looked ok.
Last night, running it the same way as above, water was not spraying. I opened the door and when I closed it again, it started spraying water. Dishes seem fairly clean. I read posts about the latch possible being broken, but it seems to be connecting well.

That's why I mentioned checking the harness connection to the control board.
Moving the door and it starting could mean a loose connection as the harness is in the door
Not spraying means that the wash pump is not operating.
Also have you checked the temperature of the water supply to the dishwasher?
It should be 120Fat the dishwasher.
If it is below this it may not start as it may be waiting for the heater element to heat the water to the correct temp. The heater will only raise the temp by about 40 F though, but it takes time.

I'll take a look today and let you know. Water is definitely hot when I check. And I don't think it's the pump, because when it works, I can hear water spraying. Thanks!

I don't think it's the pump either.
I think that it may be the wiring connection to the pump etc at the control board end.
As I said the harness connector may be loose or the connector terminals may have corrosion on them making for a poor electrical connection, which may be intermittently working
