Why does my dishwasher stop washing after a few seconds?

I've just changed the circulation motor in my Siemens dishwasher after the old one ceased up.

Now, the dishwasher fills up fine, and the circulation motor starts and you can hear the water being flung around by the wash arms. However, after a few seconds, the circulation motor comes to a halt. Open and close the door and it will start again, only to stop again after a few seconds.

Any ideas?
