Bluetooth devices unable to pair with laptop.

Hey everybody,

while working on my machine, the Bluetooth stopped working all of a sudden. I am unable to pair any Bluetooth device to the laptop since then.

I can still detect devices under +Add Bluetooth device, and I can click on them to try and pair them. But the process always ends with “Try connecting your device again.”

I am trying with a Logitech MX Vertical Mouse, and with a Bose headset. Both devices connect flawlessly on other laptops.

The Wifi on the laptop works as intended.

Is it possible that only the bluetooth antenna of the wifi card has been smoked?

Is it possible that this is a software issue?

Thanks!

Hi @olmo ,

Check the status off the BT adapter in Device Manager.

In Win 10, right click Windows start button, left side of Taskbar and click on the Device Manager link.

When in Device Manager, scroll down to find the BT entry and then right click on it and click on Properties > General tab to find the status.

BT uses the same antenna as the WiFi as they both operate on the 2.4GHZ band

All entries under Bluetooth set to be working properly.

I have been through uninstalling and readding all devices, updating drivers etc.

Seeing as the Wifi is working, everything should be ok with the hardware. I will investigate further.

Thanks!
