Does your mouse not stop scrolling?

Was having this problem, and suspected an electrical issue, but upon closer inspection, the mouse uses an optical encoder to detect scroll wheel movement. I had a bit of carpet fluff inside the wheel which was confusing the sensor and causing continuous down scrolling. Taking off the cover and removing the fuzz with tweezers cured it.
