This is a spring with 2 small mounting holes with a slotted end.

The make and model number of the tablet would go a long way to getting a helpful answer

Adding an image of the spring to the question would also help.

No picture. the two mounting holes appear to from a pressed mounting. It has sight hump with the slot at the other end.

I found it on the work table with the reassembly. May be from something else. Sorry
