Ok so i’m trying to fix the Flashing Grey folder with a question mark on it and i’m following the directions but then the firmware pops up with a grey lock and i don’t know the password for it, i’m stuck can someone please help?!?

Review this doc: About the screens on your Mac as it starts up
The blinking Question Mark in the folder is telling us the system can't find the needed system files and you'll need to either repair them or re-install the OS following this guide: If a flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac
See if re-installing the OS resolves things before wiping the drive!

If you have a firmware lock you'll need to tell us your exact system so we can guide you the rest of the way. Plug in the systems S/N into here EveryMac - Lookup
Then tell us what it came back with.
