I have an IPhone xs that's is having face Id problem, the front/selfie camera is working fine, but in the activate menu for face Id the camera doesn't turn on an face does not appear. The Phone is restored and have not any face Id for any people that's stored on it. I've done a new body assembly and screen change. Done screen change on x models with face Id with no problems before…

You may have damaged the earpiece cable which would kill face id

Hello! I thought maybe could be that also.. So you mean that one sensor in the earpiece sensor flex, starts the front camera when it comes to face Id.. ambient light sensor, flood illuminator, and proximity sensor is sensors here. Flood senor is the parts that's critical for change. Only fits your phone..
Screen dims when more or less light on light sensor.
I did one check with a emojii app that uses the camera to move eyes and stuff on the emojii same as you do to camera. It works fine... It responds to action in front of camera..
But I will check if true tone depth on front camera works also...haven't done that yet..

Yes so it’s linked to the logicboard but, sometimes those earpieces are weird because you will have a tiny tear in the earpiece and then you will only lose one function of it. Pretty weird stuff
Would you recommend me to buy new earpice flex and then unsoldered the sensor flex on it to the new one to se if thats the problem first...because the sensors is in the face Id lock to the phones identity. Only 2 small points to de solder.
You can try, but it’s a very difficult repair. I would say give it a shot

Damge of the infrared camera module flex cable can also cause the problem.
