important note: this is about the series 100 washer, not 110. there wasn't an option for the 100
when put on a wash cycle, it will fill and drain repeatedly and won't agitate. when put on a spin cycle, it will spin.
There's no way it's the lid switch, because the washer won't start to fill if the lid isn't closed, and it fills when the lid is closed.

Sounds like the “agitator dogs” these are under the center cap of the agitator. They are small plastic wedge looking things, may be 3 or 4 of them.
They cost at the most $10 or as low as $5 for all.
Grab the center piece in tub & turn it back & forth, at some point it should grab & not turn, if not you could probably feel the grinding of the bad dogs.

If it won't agitate, can you manually operate the agitator in both directions?
