Screen sometimes off but system up - screen goes on when plug in power

Hey, theres another A1708 with very strange problems.

In principle it works like a charm, but there is something strange going on with the display I think.

Everytime it goes to sleep or is restartet on battery power, the screen remains black when turning back on. But system is up, hearable on sound and keyboard backlight.

When I plugin power, the display will light up immediately. Sometimes display remains off also with power pluged in. Only after NVRAM and SMC reset the display will come to live again but first time only with power pluged in.

I have no clue yet. Hardware Test says ADP000…so no hardware issues!?

Tried complete reinstalling MacOs…nothing changed.

Update (20.12.2019)

Checked with a flashlight. Display is coming on but no backlight. Does anyone know what are the backlight relevant components on board or hinge?

They will replace the display with the newer ribbon cable.

also i think the problem does not apply to the hinge, because when I leave open it’s the same. So if testing a while, every second time I set it to sleep an reactivate the backlight is working…

Is so strange because software can be excluded because clean installed High Sierra and Catalina for testing.

real hardware issue should be reproducible result!?

Juste checked pmset in Terminal, because maybe theres an power management issue.

I saw: “gpuswitch            2”

Am I right, there are no seperate grafic cards in the 13” 2017 base model with functional keys? Also didnt find the switch option in standard energy options in system settings. What means the value 2? Maybe theres a problem?
