heater stuck on lights flashing

lights all flashing and heater stays on. shut off button doesn’t shut it off   push auto off at the same time as the three size buttons and it reset and the lights went off.  it makes the cup of coffee fine but the heater remains on and gets extremely hot so I unplug it.
