Tooth missing from new screen home button connector.

Block Image

Good morning. Yesterday I changed a screen on iPhone 6 Plus. Screen is working perfectly but home button was intermittent then stopped. On closer inspection I’ve noticed that one of the teeth are loose on the connector and has actually snapped but is being held in place by the ones either side. Anything I can do as seller of screen will not refund.

Can you take photos of the home button connector on the screen side and also the home button side (while unplugged?)

Here’s a guide on how to add images to an existing answer:

Depending on where it broke, the home button may be able to be reused which is preferred as replacing the home button results in no touch ID / fingerprint unlock functionality.

Hi Ben. It’s on screen side only. I have since put original screen back on and everything works fine. Just not with screen pictured. I hope I’ve uploaded correctly.

To get that fixed it would either require a bit of soldering (a little jumper wire or replacement pin to solder onto that spot or the screen will need to be replaced.

It's probably cheaper to get the screen replaced rather than to have someone re-solder a new pin onto that connector.

From that image it looks like a 6s plus screen.
