Trackpad has strange click to it

I recently bought a MacBook from a friend because it wouldn't charge.

I've replaced the MagSafe DC-In board and the system now works!

But, the trackpad has a very loud audible click when pressing in certain areas of the trackpad, is it possibly debris stuck in the pad that can be removed or should I just replace the trackpad?

Take a very close look at the battery to see if it is swollen. I would actually remove it so I could also check the bottom of the battery.

I would first just try taking it out so you can clean the frame edge and the trackpads edge as you could just have grit or other junk stuck in the gap. Use care with the cleaner as you can very easily damage the trackpad as the sandwich edge can wick up the cleaner and kill it. Basically you want a ever so slightly damp micro cloth to wipe the edge with 85% or better isopropyl alcohol.
