HDMI Port Replacement - Stuck in 460x600 - HDMI IC Controller?

Hello Everyone.

I had a dead Xbox One S HDMI Port (No Video Out) that I replaced and repaired with a brand new HDMI Port. Pins and posts seem to be soldered in correctly. It was a new port manufactured in China I bought from Amazon that had 5* reviews from other repairs. One pad from a grounding post (one of the four main posts) came off - but, as I think this is for grounding, it shouldn’t be an issue?

Doing the repair did raise some new issues… I now have a picture, however, the only video output option I have that is stable (and that the Xbox one offers in menu) is 640x400.

Trying a few workarounds, I can get it to snap into 720 and 1080 resolutions, but 720 only lasts for a few seconds before reverting, and 1080 is only for a moment. an image does show in the applied resolutions at the correct resolution in both adaptations for those moments.

I’m confident that the Xbox one S is simply not able to communicate its Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) correctly with any device (multiple monitors, TV’s, and HDMI cables were tried with no success).

I’m trying to isolate any hardware or software issues that might be responsible for the breakdown in the EDID communication process.

I factory reset the machine with no success. Applied 1080 / 720 in the Factory Reset menu’s’s to no avail.

I’m a bit stuck - My best ideas are that replacing the HDMI IC Control Chip “could” resolve the issue. I don’t think the issues I’m having reflect most issues that normally occur with this part, though - is the HDMI IC Control Chip responsible in any way for EDID communication? or, is that controlled by another part?

Also, perhaps a software update somewhere is needed specifically for the EDID codec’s? Again, i’m a bit stuck. Any help or suggestions are surely appreciated.

Best,

-Frankie
