LCD doesn’t work
Hi guys!
Display doesn’t work in my iMac 2017. I already replaced LVSD cable. It didn’t help. Can it be cause of the problem?(see picture)
Yes! it does look like some moisture damage and the components have fallen off. I don’t have a schematic and boardview for this system so I can’t tell you what you’ll need to get to replace the damaged components.
Are you able to get an external monitor to work?

It looks indeed like a liquid damage..but all the way up there on an iMac ? Singing in the rain with my iMac beside ? ;)
@arbaman - Yes it's an odd place! Rain coming in from the back vent? Could have been near an open widow getting blown in.
No, it’s not placed near window. There was never any liquid on it. Damaged only 3 parts. I guess it burned for some reason.
@oldturkey03 - Any ideas on the missing components
Have no idea:)
Hi @ruslansolovka
did you figure out what the problem of your iMac was? In fact no components seem to be missing on your board (at least not within the provided image section). Just for comparison I added a picture of my (fully working) A1418 2017 4k iMac of the exact same location.
Pleas note, that not all of the ‘stain’ is due to water damage - but I would recommend taking a closer look at the tiny capacitors of the upper circle as well as the same section on the other side of the board
Best

Time is a great healer! I'm sure ruslansolovka's system is working at this point (note the date, a little over 2 years ago)

Technically the cable is called an iDP or eDP cable as it handles a different signaling system (retina or better) than the older LVDS cable.

ruslansolovka what's the 820-xxxx on your board? If it is anything like a 820-00431 or a 820-00597 then there are no schematics available yet. Apple is getting smart and more devious in hiding those.

I can’t find that number on the board. Maybe it’s on other side
