Display doesn't work after battery swap
I performed a battery replacement and now my display no longer works. I tried reseating all ribbon cables 3 separate times to no avail. Is this grounds for tossing the phone?

The LCD display is extremely fragile on this phone, if you shine the display to direct sunlight or torch can you see any hairline crack?
When powering the phone on does it make sounds?

Yes now that you mention it I do see a hairline crack
This is the reason there is no display, as soon as this type of display has a crack on the LCD, there is no image at all. You will now need a new display assembly.
