Broken screen high cpu
I am using my MAC with an external monitor until I get my faulty screen cables replaced but the cpu is running at 70% and the machine is slow. I know that it is the temperature probes. How to I switch off the thermal sensors.
Update (04/05/2019)
Really nice of you to reply… thank you.
I am fairly sure it is the display temperature sensor. I have ordered a new display cable. (I hope the new cable will be in shortly).
But, at the moment I am using the iMac (my business computer) with an external monitor but it is very slow …
If I could find a temp way of disabling the display temperature I’m certain that it would work until the cable arrives… Any solutions would be great …
Thanks again.

Can you post some pics of the cables damage? Thats what I was hoping for to see if it could be patched.
Breaking off some components on the logic board would be the only way to kill off SMC services but that would be a permanent action you don't want to do! Then you would have a much more costly repair to fix that.
Have you looked at renting a system, or look at getting a notebook just so you have a backup solution?

Ooo braking off components sounds drastic.... :-) - I have just been told that the cable is arriving today. I just hope that I haven't damaged the female end of the display screen port... I will post images next time I remove the screen... thank again for your help.

Your computer suffers from high CPU usage and the process that hogs most, also don't try to disable the display adapters, the disk drive that runs your system https://www.bluestacks.onl/
