Row of keys not working
I replaced my battery and while following the great guide, I misinterpreted one of the images and started prying at the wrong plastic piece of the keyboard connector on the motherboard. I have a feeling I might have messed up one of the pins on the board. I broke part of the plastic covering and that’s when I realized I was poking at the wrong thing. I managed to get the ribbon disconnected, finished replacing my battery. I let the battery charge and started it up. Everything seemed to work fine until I tried to log in and realized that some of the keys on my keyboard don’t work now. Specifically “z”-”.”, as well as the left cmd button.
I have looked at all the pins I can see thanks to the previously mentioned breaking of the plastic covering, they all look fine and it doesn’t seem as though I damaged any of them, it is possible I messed up one of the pins that is still under the plastic guard. I cannot see any of those pins under the plastic guard though. I also tried to re-seat the ribbon cable a few times to see if that could fix it.
Is there anything I can do about this other than use an external keyboard? Is there any mapping for which pins correspond to which sets of keys? Is there any way for me to determine if maybe it is an issue with the ribbon vs the board?
Any help is greatly appreciated, have a good one.
