Will not display after screen replacement

I replaced the screen on a 2016 MacBook Pro with touchbar, after the screen was replaced when it boots up, it will not display to the screen, however will still display to an external monitor. I can get the screen to display on the laptop when I boot to an external drive sometimes, and I have tried another screen, and I get the same result. Installing the original screen solves all these issues and it works as normal. Any suggestions?

Have you tried an NVRAM reset? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063

@butch00772 I would return the display as its defective! The only other possibility is you damaged it in the process of installing it.

While these displays are very expensive they are quite easy to replace. The backlight cable is very sensitive in the newer 2016 & 2017 models as the cable is a bit short so it stresses at the connection point at the T-CON board.

Review these:

I’d see if there is a connection issue on the screen cable. The connection might be bad. In addition to this, you might be suffering from the "stage light” issues that were explored by iFixit. If that doesn’t work, try an NVRAM reset, and if it still doesn’t work, the problem is somewhere else.

I've checked the connection, and it appears to be fine, I tried to update the MacBook, it was running High Sierra, and after the update to Mojave it displayed with no issue until the computer rebooted, and now it's having the same issue
