Hey
3 days ago, while updating my iPhone 3GS, an error came on from iTunes and the phone just turned off, I've tried EVERY SINGLE WAY to get it to work again but i guess im gonna have to do it the hard way by breaking into it.
plus, i opened it and took out the wire #3 and i cant get it back in.
Any suggestions?

Try charging it with a dedicated USB wall charger for a few hours. And then try Recovery mode, if that fails, try DFU Mode.

Remember that the iPhone comes with a 1 year warranty. Even if the warranty is over, bringing it in and getting it fixed is usualy less expensive than buying a new phone...that is unless you know exactly whats wrong, if you do know whats wrong(and your not under warranty) buying a replacement part is a good idea.

Mine did the same yesterday, it just shut down suddenly. I waited for a blue screen but after several minutes it rebooted. (I am joking of course...)
I am guessing there is a hidden firmware command you can use to reboot it (a series of button pushes or something) but give it a few minutes and then plug it in to a wall charger. In my case it worked by waiting a few minutes.
I suspect that there is a bug in the latest release that Apple is working on that relates to the crashing of apps too. Maybe this is why the next release is taking so long...

Wire 3 has a small clip that needs to be lifted up to allow the ribbon to slide into the slot behind it. Then once you have the cable pushed in (which doesn't go all the way back in) press the little clip back down and it will secure the ribbon in place.
I also found that to restore I plugged into iTunes which didn't recognize my phone. I then held power and home button until I heard the noise that indicates the USB has been removed then I let go of the power button and kept holding the home button until I heard the noise that indicted that the cable had been reconnected. They say about ten seconds for each process but mine took quite a bit longer to be recognized. Just be patient.

wire #3 refers to proximity sensor/earpiece flex cable. even without it supposed to be your phone must turn on.
Can you recall what error did iTunes gave you?

The #3 wire instead of pressing or snapping it I'n like the others you need to slide it I'n under the white plastic part.

Just have patience, the least amount of buttons u push, the faster it turns right back on after u have plugged it into the charger
