Freezer is not cold and Fridge is too cold
I had just bought a whirlpool 3.1 cubic ft mini fridge a month ago and I’ve noticed that the freezer is too warm but the fridge keeps freezing everything! I don’t know what’s going on but I need help

Are the controls set correctly?
The best temperature for food storage is 38° F to 40° F in the refrigerator section and 0° F to 2° F in the freezer section. If food in the refrigerator section is freezing, it may be necessary to adjust both the refrigerator and the freezer controls. Begin adjustment with the freezer control, one temperature level at a time. Allow 8 hours for temperature adjustment before setting the control to the next level. Refer to your Use and Care Guide for further temperature adjustment instructions.
Are the air vents blocked?
In order to ensure proper temperature, you need to allow room for proper air flow between the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Cool air enters and exits the refrigerator compartment from the freezer compartment through vents. Depending on your model, these vents are in different locations. In the refrigerator compartment, items placed directly in the path of the freezer air flow may freeze
- Locate the vents in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments and ensure that there is nothing blocking the air flow.
- If vents are blocked, airflow will decrease. Temperature and moisture issues may arise due to blocked vents.
- Items placed directly in the air flow from the freezer compartment to the refrigerator compartment may freeze. Do not place temperature sensitive items, such as eggs and liquids, in these areas.

If anyone is still here: My new apartment’s Whirlpool model ET6WSKXSQ00 doesn’t have a separate temperature control for the freezer, just one control for both, on the roof of the fridge part. Both are still almost empty - just have some ice cube trays in the freezer and a few beverages in the fridge. My fridge thermometer is reading 38 degrees, but the freezer is only going down to 5. Afraid all the fridge stuff will freeze if I turn it down any further in order to make the freezer a safe cold temperature of zero. Any fix for this? I am nervous about using the freezer if it’s too warm, but will simply filling up the freezer make it colder? Thanks so much for any help.
Hi Barb! My mini fridge is the same way, the freezer and fridge have the same control unit. If the unit is old (like it was in the apartment before you got there), unplug it and let it defrost all the way, then clean it up and plug it back in. My freezer stopped working and it turns out the compressor line was clogged (and it would cost just as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one fyi), so I just use the fridge part. It could also be electrical, I hope that's helpful in some way :)

Tengo un problema con mi refrigerador. El siguiente problema que tiene es el de no enfriar solo se mantiene fresco en la parte de abajo. Aveces enfria y aveces no enfria. Solo un poco. Alguie podria ayudarme que puedo verificar para porder corregir esta falla.
