Why is my Xbox Elite Controllers right trigger going off by my LS?

For some reason every time I play i see that when I use my left stick to go forward my right trigger is activated. Not just on the game but it happens on the dashboard as. It used to happen very rarely but happens very extremely. Sometimes it happens constantly when using my left stick, sometimes it happens once or twice. Is there some way too fix this and is the left stick somehow connected to the right trigger? I would love to be able to fix this somehow but if not I might have to send this to some website to get fixed.
