Why isn't my laptop booting up after turning it on?

So when I power on my laptop, it starts then the VAIO logo appears and after that, a black screen with a blinking underscore at the top left corner appears and it just stays like that. I tried reseting the BIOS, replacing the RAM’S and the HDD, but nothing seems to work.

What can I do?

Hi,

Try using a Win 10 Recovery USB and check if you can resolve the problems with it.

You can create a Win 10 USB Recovery drive from any known working Win 10 PC.

In the host PC go to Control Panel > Recovery > create a Recovery drive and follow the prompts.

To get to Control Panel click on the Windows start button (left side of Taskbar) and then type Control Panel in the search box next to the start button, select Control Panel -desktop app that appears in the results box

You will need a 8GB flashdive and about 40-60 minutes of time to create the drive.

When you have the USB drive, insert it into the laptop and turn the laptop on.

Press F11 repeatedly before the laptop tries to boot into Windows to see if the boot manager opens.

If it does select the USB as 1st boot option, save the change (if applicable) and then restart the laptop.

Hopefully it will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment menus (from the USB drive)

Select Troubleshooting > Advanced > Startup repair and follow the prompts.

Do not select "Reset this PC" because if you select the wrong option afterwards you can delete all your data as Windows will be re installed
