Battery at 1 percent, searching for carrier and very slow boot

Hi

A while ago I bought an iphone 7 that was used that had a broken screen. When I got it it wasn’t booting as it should, so I ttok out the battery and tried it in another iPhone 7. When I tried the battery in the other Iphone 7, that iPhone 7 wouldn’t boot normal either, and when it booted up the battery only says that it has 1% charge and when the lightning cable is plugged in it doesn’t say that it is charging. Also the iPhone only stays at “searching“ on the top left corner. It is also really, really slow when in use. The phone worked as it should before I tested the battery from the second iPhone 7. I have also confirmed that both of the batteries work as they should. The second iPhone 7 won’t recognize any audio device, so I suspect that it has a bad audio IC? But my question here is actually what is wrong with the iPhone that worked before I tested the battery? I am thinking that it might be the charging IC, but I am not sure.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Hi Minho and thanks for your answer

A while ago I bought an iphone 7 (phone 1) that was used that had a broken screen. When I got it (phone 1) it wasn’t booting as it should, so I took out the battery and tried it in another iPhone 7 (phone 2). When I tried the battery in (phone 2), it (phone 2) wouldn’t boot normal either, and when it (phone 2) booted up the battery only says that it (phone 2) has 1% charge and when the lightning cable is plugged in it doesn’t say that it (phone 2) is charging. Also (phone 2) only stays at “searching“ on the top left corner (searching for carrier network). It (phone 2) is also really, really slow when in use. (Phone 2) worked as it should before I tested the battery from (phone 1). I have also confirmed that both of the batteries from (phone 1) and (phone 2) work as they should. (Phone 1) won’t recognize any audio device, so I suspect that it (phone 1) has a bad audio IC? But my question here is actually what is wrong with (phone 2) that worked before I tested the battery from (phone 1)? I am thinking that it might be the charging IC, but I am not sure.

Hope this is more understandable:)

I’m a little confused about which phone is which in your description. Perhaps you can edit it to show something like “I bought a phone (phone 1)…battery from phone 1 inside phone 2 does ...blah, blah, blah”. It can be difficult for folks to follow the story because we don’t have the personal insight and understanding of the situation.

Keep in mind that you may have damaged something during the repair/transfer process so that adds in another variable. Ideally, you want to get one phone working properly (or at least with known issues) and then try the testing again.

The slow boot is also caused by the Audio IC issue so you have to compartmentalize the separate issues. The charging issue is most likely battery related but it could also be charge port, Lightning cable or charger related.
