Maytag washing machine won't run high spin cycle

It will not go into the high speed spin at the end of washing leaving the cloths still very wet.

The drum will agitate to wash and will do a low spin but when it should go into high speed spin the drum stops, the pump still runs but nothing else is happening. It has 4(?) different spin speed options and none of them work.

All the wash cycles work, the drum does turn, pump works, hoses are not kinked, drain filter is clean just won’t spin.

I am leaning toward the control board but am wondering if there is anything else I should look at before ordering a $110 part.
