Can a Keurig K-Elite be fixed if accidentally plugged into 220V?

I recently ordered a Keurig Elite to the Middle East and completely forgot about the voltages and plugged it into a 220V power outlet. There were no sparks or smoke coming out of the machine though. Just a loud 'pop' noise, and the electricity in the house completely got cut off. Is there any way my Keurig can be fixed by an electrician or technician? or did I just throw money down the drain? Does it have a safety switch or fuse or whatever? Thanks.

Hi @sbjjj

Dis-assemble the coffee maker so that the circuit board is visible and then post some close up pictures of any noticeable damage on it. That way it may be possible to determine the extent of the problem

Here’s how to do that. iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法

Here’s a link to the available ifixit Keurig repair guides that may also be of some help with the dis-assembly.

It may be preferable to contact an electronics repair service rather than an electrician unless you know electricians who are skilled in electrical appliance repairs. Just a thought

If you’re lucky Keurig put in a fuse in your model, if not the circuitry is likely fried.

It might be salvageable, it will likely need parts. In the end it might be cheaper getting a new unit which is 220 volt.

Don’t forget you’ll also need a step-down transformer for your fixed unit and it needs to be able to support the current draw. http://support.keurig.com/article?id=kA0...
