1 iPhone 5s power/sleep button doesn't work after battery replacement.
I replaced the battery following Ifixit repair guide and the phone works except for the Power/Sleep button. Phone will boot up when attached to usb charging cable and can be turned off or restarted from General menu. All other functions seem to work correctly except those requiring the use of the power/sleep button. I reassembled the phone twice just in case I had missed a connector with no luck.

Hi and thanks. Your suggestion is totally reasonable, but a complete disassembly of of the phone is not something I'm willing to undertake - the risk of further damage exceeds the likelihood of resolving the problem. I'll see if I can live without the sleep button...

Understandable, it's a painful repair in a way..if the other functions are still there you can probably live without just the power button, you can set a shorter screen sleep time to save on battery
If one day you decide to go for replacement, be careful to buy the cable with metal supports already glued in place as sold on iFixit as naked cable is even a more troublesome repair ;)
