First check to make sure you have fluid in the tranny and that it is clear. If so you may have a bad modulator. If not you can try adding fluid and look for leaks. You should also check that the gear selector is moving when you move the shift lever. At this point I would recommend taking it to a professional---big bucks--sorry.
