iMac 27" A1312 CPU fan replacement
Has anyone done a CPU fan replacement (guide) on this model iMac?
Update (01/10/2019)
Update:
a) SMC reset had no effect - so ordered ifixit fan. Fan arrived two days ago.
b) before starting MB removal to replace fan - today i plugged in the new one and started up machine - no CPU fan start.
c) plugged the new CPU fan into the DVD fan port - and the new fan works.
Conclusion: MB is not sending signal or power to start the CPU fan.
Help. Does anyone know of this circumstance or what a solution may be?
One solution is to run jumper from the DVD wires to the CPU fan wires or abondon cooling DVD in favour of CPU - again with jumper...

Did you replace the hard drive? Why do you think the fan needs replacing?

Mayer - Greetings!
I don't know that yet. But wanted to get some help getting to that part of the machine.
As i've mentioned - i removed the GPU card and heat sinks a couple days ago with success in recovery of display. However, after downloading macs fan control - i see that the cpu fan is not running and can not be controlled. The other two are fine.
It may be i loosened a connector when juggling the MB to get the GPU card out (two screws accessed from back only - man!).
First i will attempt SMC reset first.

I am wondering if the resistor associated with the CPU fan has failed. Where is it? Can it be tested? Can it be replaced?
