Hi I have a Macbook Pro 2016 touchbar 4 thunderbolt. Having the same problem as the user in the link below. Tried everything. The touchbar works but seems like just the backlight is dead.

In the replies you can see that apple is charging $475 to fix the backlight. I was trying to find this part and a guide on how to fix it but I can’t find either.
Do I need to replace / repair the whole touch bar?

At this point you’ll need to check the connection, if that doesn’t fix it you’ll need to replace the TouchBar MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2016-2017) Touch Bar Assembly
My bad! Yes, you want the correct sized unit.
The Touch Bar is a OLED unit no backlight here. Just like the LG wallpaper TV ultra thin!

Dan, I did try this - multiple times. In between resetting SMC, PRAM, and NVRAM. It did noting for me.

Is the backlight built in/part of the touch bar? Any guide besides the teardown that shows how to replace it?
