My computer won't work after factory restart

So did a factory restart on my computer. Now when I try to set it up after I put in country and timezone it wants to install an update. I followed all the steps of connecting to the internet and letting it run whatever you need to do, but it's not working. It keeps wanting to go through the process over and over again I've done it like 10 times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Windows is it? You may have to manually download and isnstall some updates before the automatic updating will work.

@shelbym where specifically does it get stuck?

さんによる

It is a windows 10. It does say that it needs to update. I am currently having a problem with doing the update, and the system says that I have to do the update first. It suggested that I connect to the internet to allow it to update, so far that has not worked. The second suggestion is that I connect with another computer that as a wifi connection. No luck so far with this option, but I am still working on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @shelbym

Try creating a Win 10 USB recovery disc and booting from that.

The USB recovery disk can be created from any known working Win 10 computer. All you need is a 8GB flashdrive and about 40-60 minutes of time.

In the Win 10 host computer, go to Control panel > Recovery > create a recovery disc.

Once you have the recovery USB, insert it into the laptop and then after the laptop starts and before it boots into Windows, get into BIOS and change the boot order to USB as 1st boot option.

Don’t know your laptop but you may also have to enable either Legacy USB or CSM in BIOS to allow it to boot from a USB drive. Save the changes and exit from BIOS.

When the laptop restarts it should boot from the USB drive into the Windows Recovery Environment.

If you wish to reinstall Win 10 select Reset this PC.

If you wish to save your data, select Troubleshooting > Advanced > Startup Repair and follow the prompts.
