I replaced my iPhone 7 screen with an iFixIt screen. We transferred the home button from the original screen, but when I try to use Touch ID, it says “Unable to Complete Touch ID Setup.” There is no apparent damage to any cables. Does anyone have any advice or has anyone run into this similar problem?

This means either the home button got damaged or the replacement screen is faulty.
If the old screen still works you can try the home button on that and see if the touch ID works.

Thanks for your response. I'm pretty sure we got a defective screen from ifixit.. The wiring harness from the home button won't snap into the new screen
To get it to connect I usually move the home button flex to align it. You'll need to loosen the adhesive behind the button flex so that you can move it while it's not stuck on to the screen.
