Epson RX595 not recognizing cartridge/computer not recognizing printer

Hi everyone, this might be a lengthy read so bare with me.

A while back I got an oldish printer (Epson Rx595) and noticed that it wasn’t working.

First, it gave me an error saying the black ink wasn’t recognized and the cartridge was missing so i thought “ok, i just need to buy ink”. After buying the ink, it still gave me that error. Upon further inspection, i found out one of the pins for the Cartridge connector was missing (the thing between the board and the cartridge chip). I had called an “epson certified” repair person and he told me i was better off buying a new printer.

I thought… “ok… well i already bought all this ink…” and i looked up the part and eventually found it for 6 dollars on ebay. I replaced it thinking it would work. Instead, what happens now is that once I put the cartridge in, instead of the black ink being recognized, ALL the cartridges are no longer recognized. If i take the black ink back out, then the printer returns to the error screen saying that only the black is missing.

Then I figured it might have to do with a printer software/driver or if there’s a way for me to do sort of a “reset”. I tried installing the Epson Connect Printer Setup program only to find that it cannot find the printer. When I troubleshoot the printer on control panel it says that “USB Composite Device can’t work properly with USB 3.0”. So i tried a different cable and multiple slots… I don’t think all these ports are USB 3.0 and it’s not like I can connect the printer to the network because I can’t get passed the error page on the Epson printer to do so.

Someone help please!!

Thanks
