backlight but no display after repair attempt

I attempted the youtube directed nintendo Switch Digitizer repair. at the end i tried turning my switch on, but to no avail. the backlight comes on but no image displays. I suspect i havent pushed the ribbon from the LCD far enough in, but it’s really hard to push it all the way in/not sure if I have or not. please advise.
