I forgot to install hard drive bracket after upgrading to SSD

Hello!

I just upgraded my imac 21,5” 4k (late 2015).

I changed the harddrive to a new SSD.

Everything works perfect.

But I forgot to screw back on the two hard drive brackets. I did screw back the screws, but I forgot to put the plastic bits securing the drive in place underneath the screws.

However since an SSD is so light in weight. I hope it doesn’t matter that I forgot the hardware brackets.

The rubber that was around the old harddrive inside the imac is still around the new SSD, so it sits fairly good in place.

I dont want to redo it. But I plan to sell my imac in the future to someone.

Safety is always priority one, and its impossible for the new SSD to touch any other electrical part before first disconecting from sata connection. Since the sata connection in imac is almost fixed in place. And by that time the computer would have already stopped working.

Do you think it’s okay to let it be as is?

If you wernt’t selling your system I would have just tape the screws on the back to remind me to put them in the next time I opened the system.

But, as you are selling the system I would make the effort in putting them in. You see, moving the system could cause the connections to break free and that could be an expensive repair.
