My m2 smart watch only comes on when charging.

My m2 smart watch only comes on when I’m charging it. But it goes off when I remove it from the cable. I’ve charged it for over 5 hours and it’s still not coming on. Please what can I do?

Hi @whales75 ,

It seems as though the watch’s battery is failing to hold its’ charge and may need to be replaced.

How old is the watch?

In most locations there is a 12 months manufacturer’s warranty on the watch. If your warranty period is still valid, consult the warranty documentation that came with the watch to find out if it is valid for 12 months and if so follow the directions in the warranty to make a claim for a warranty repair or replacement.

If it is no longer covered by the warranty, here’s a video that shows how to open the watch so that access to the battery is possible and it can be replaced.

It is in Hindi, but the video is self explanatory.

The watch’s waterproof properties will be lost once it has been opened.

You will need to unsolder the old battery wires from the motherboard and to resolder the new battery in, so soldering expertise and tools will be required.

Looking at the video I believe that the battery is a 3.7V LiPo battery with dimensions of 4.0mm x 10mm x 20mm as shown by the code 401020 on the battery in the video.

Here’s a link to suppliers of the battery. It is only shown to give you an idea of the cost of the battery. There are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Just search for 3.7V LiPo battery 401020.

Hopefully this is of some help

Thank you. But how do I contact the manufacturer for the warranty. I ordered the watch from Jumia on the 31st of March. I’ve been unable to use it since then

HI @whales75 ,m

The manufacturer is Xiaomi

Was there a User guide that came with the watch?

Usually inside the guide there is the warranty statement which should be relevant to your location.

If there is nothing in the guide or it is not with any other documentation that came with the watch etc, here's a link regarding the warranty on Xiaomi products for the Middle East and Africa (if this is where you are).

At the bottom of the page there are some contact options you may like to try. They may give you the details regarding Xiaomi distributors or service agents in your area.

This is the warranty information from Jumia which also may help.
