I accidentally dropped my controller in some shallow water

I accidentally dropped my PS4 controller into some shallow water and after drying it worked for a friends PS4 for a couple of days but then when I try to re-connect it back to my PS4 wouldn’t reconnect please help how do I fix it all it does is flash orange for a little then turns off
